Super Falcons begin training camp in Ikenne ahead of Senegal friendlies

The Super Falcons of Nigeria, current African champions, have opened a training camp in Ikenne in preparation for a pair of international friendly matches against Senegal, reports the DAILY POST.

Head coach Justine Madugu announced a 23‑player squad for the friendlies on Sunday.

The team’s media officer released an itinerary indicating that players are expected to begin arriving at the camp today.

Both matches will be played at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne.

The first friendly is scheduled for Friday, 5 June, and the second for Monday, 8 June.

Nigeria and Senegal will use the fixtures to fine‑tune their squads ahead of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in Morocco in July.

The Super Falcons are drawn in Group C, alongside debutants Malawi, Zambia, and Egypt.

Senegal will compete in Group A against hosts Morocco, Algeria, and Kenya.

The 2026 WAFCON finals will also act as qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The four semi‑finalists will earn spots to represent Africa at the global tournament next year.
