Super Eagles: Chelle Finalizes Call-Ups for Poland and Portugal Friendlies

Super Eagles head coach Éric Chelle has issued late call‑ups to Genk full‑back Christian Akpan and Baník Ostrava striker Abdullahi Bewene for the team’s upcoming friendlies against Poland and Portugal.

Akpan recently appeared for Genk in a UEFA Europa League playoff match.

The 21‑year‑old was a regular for Genk’s second team during the current season.

Bewene earned his invitation after an impressive campaign with Baník Ostrava in the Czech Fortuna Chance Liga.

Several first‑team players, including Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, and Alhassan Yusuf, have withdrawn from the friendlies.

The Super Eagles will play Poland on Wednesday, followed by a match against Portugal a week later.
