Mamelodi Sundowns have secured their second CAF Champions League title after a tense second‑leg encounter with AS FAR in Rabat.

The South African side first lifted the trophy in 2016 and returned to the summit of African club football in 2024.

Entering the match with a 1‑0 advantage from the first leg in Pretoria, Sundowns held on after a 1‑1 draw in Morocco to win 2‑1 on aggregate.

AS FAR opened the scoring in the 40th minute when Mohamed Hrimat converted a penalty, leveling the tie and sparking celebration in the packed Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

Just before halftime, Teboho Mokoena finished from inside the box to make it 1‑1 on the night, restoring the South African club’s aggregate lead.

In the 77th minute, AS FAR earned another penalty. Hrimat stepped up again, but Ronwen Williams saved the spot‑kick by diving low to his bottom‑right corner, preserving Sundowns’ advantage and silencing the crowd.

AS FAR pressed for a late comeback, but Sundowns defended with composure and experience, securing the Champions League trophy.
