Stoke City are interested in signing Nigerian striker Josh Maja following his departure from West Bromwich Albion, Completesports.com reports.
The 27-year-old became a free agent after failing to agree terms on a new contract with the Baggies, bringing an end to his stay at The Hawthorns.
According to Transferfeed, Stoke City manager Mark Robins is a long-time admirer of the former Sunderland forward and is keen to bring him to the bet365 Stadium ahead of the new Championship campaign.

Maja is no stranger to Stoke, having spent the second half of the 2021/22 season on loan from French club Girondins Bordeaux. However, he endured a difficult spell, scoring just once in 15 Championship appearances.
Stoke are not alone in the race for the Nigerian, with fellow Championship sides Watford and Bristol City also said to be keeping tabs on the striker’s situation.
The forward, who has one senior cap for the Super Eagles according to Transfermarkt, is currently valued at €4.5 million.
Maja joined West Bromwich Albion from Bordeaux in the summer of 2023 and went on to score 19 goals in 81 appearances across all competitions for the club.
