Born on 4 January 1951 in Uwani, Enugu State, Chairman Christian Chukwu represented Nigeria at the African Cup of Nations as a player, captain, scorer, and later as Chief and substantive Chief Coach. He participated in three editions as a player from 1976 to 1980, earning bronze medals twice.
Chukwu retired from active football in 1980. In 1985 he began coaching Enugu Rangers International FC, and the same year the Nigeria Football Association appointed him to assist the national Under‑17 team coach. He passed away on 12 April 2025 at the age of 74.
