The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, extended his congratulations to Muslims nationwide on the occasion of Eid‑el‑Kabir. He urged believers to renew their devotion to Allah (SWT) and to reaffirm their dedication to the nation.

Through a Sallah message released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, the Speaker encouraged Muslims to perform acts of charity, especially toward the poor, the needy, and the less privileged. He noted that such generosity embodies a fundamental principle of Islam.

Abbas highlighted that the festival signifies complete submission to Allah’s will, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). He added that the period invites deep reflection on faith, sacrifice, and obedience to God.

The Speaker pointed out that the life of Prophet Ibrahim offers important lessons, including steadfast faith in Allah and respect for established authority.

He called on Nigerians to remain selfless and devoted to serving both God and humanity, encouraging sacrifices of time, resources, and goodwill.

With the general elections scheduled for next year, Abbas also requested special prayers for peaceful polls. He further appealed for prayers aimed at fostering national unity, prosperity, political stability, and progress across all levels of government.
