Sowore Calls for Dismantling Cartels and Proposes Ways for the Federal Government to Combat Power‑Sector Corruption

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, on Thursday suggested a solution to tackling corruption in Nigeria’s power sector.

Sowore, who also works as a human rights activist, said that dismantling the cartel, democratizing electricity, and delivering power to Nigerians remain the key to eradicating corruption in the sector.

Posting on X, he claimed that corruption in the sector is vast and entrenched, stressing that the monumental heist has kept Nigerians in darkness.

He wrote: “The corruption in Nigeria’s power sector is so vast, so deeply entrenched, that it will take a sledgehammer, not a feather duster, to smash the monumental heist that has kept our people in darkness for decades.
