The Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency, REA, Abba Aliyu, has reacted to the appointment of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, as Chairman of the agency’s Governing Board.
President Bola Tinubu also appointed Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as members of the REA Governing Board.
Reacting in a statement on Tuesday, Aliyu welcomed the new appointments into the agency.
According to him, the appointments are “round pegs in round holes.”
He noted that their collective expertise would be invaluable in advancing the agency’s mission to provide electricity to rural and underserved communities through solar mini-grid projects.
“Our visionary leader, President Tinubu, is intentional about ensuring that every Nigerian has access to reliable electricity. With these new appointments, the President has further demonstrated his keen commitment to our success,” Aliyu stated.
