Nigerian Army soldiers, in cooperation with Department of State Services agents, successfully repelled suspected terrorists during a security operation in Isa Local Government Area, Sokoto State.

Security officials say the operation began at approximately 2:50 a.m. on May 14, following intelligence that suggested terrorist activity near Lugu village.

Security analyst Zagazola Makama posted on X that the troops engaged the armed suspects in a gun battle, compelling them to retreat toward the Bafarawa area.

After the confrontation, the forces carried out follow‑up operations around Danzanke in Modachi village and along a riverside near a damaged bridge.

During the operation, soldiers rescued a civilian who had sustained gunshot wounds.

Sources said the injured victim was evacuated for medical care, while security operatives maintained clearance and patrols throughout the affected communities to locate the fleeing suspects and prevent further terrorist activity.
