Sokoto Governor Shagari says Tinubu rarely sleeps because of Nigeria’s security situation.

Former Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Mukhtar Shagari, said that President Bola Tinubu does not sleep well because of the insecurity plaguing the country.

Shagari made the remarks on Thursday while appearing as a guest on Arise Television’s “Morning Show.”

He added that every state currently has a security budget and that those funds should be directed toward establishing state police forces.

According to him, there should be no excuses when it comes to protecting lives and property, as Nigerians are increasingly worried about the security situation.

“The President hardly sleeps easy because of the security situation. He is deeply concerned about the safety and security of Nigerians, but security cannot be the responsibility of the Federal Government alone,” he said.

“States must step up to support the President, the military, and other security agencies in tackling insecurity so that people can travel freely, go about their daily activities, and sleep peacefully without fear for their safety,” he added.
