Site engineer, 15 others trapped as five-storey building collapses in Port Harcourt

On Wednesday, a five‑storey building under construction collapsed in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, trapping 16 people, including a site engineer, under the debris.

Eyewitnesses reported the collapse occurred around 9 a.m., sending residents and workers into panic.

Sources say that several construction workers and the site engineer were present when the structure collapsed, burying them in the rubble.

Rescue operations began right away, with emergency responders, security agencies, and local residents attempting to reach those trapped.
