Living in Lagos more expensive than US – says Singer BNXN after relocating

Nigerian singer Daniel Benson, better known as BNXN, has stated that living in Lagos is more expensive than living in the United States, where he has recently moved.

The artist explained that, aside from routine expenses, life in the U.S. feels more organized and less stressful than in Lagos, citing the lack of street‑level pressure such as unsolicited requests for money.

During a recent TikTok livestream, BNXN remarked, “I was telling someone, since I got to the United States, nobody has asked me to give them money. And people are also suffering here.”

He added, “Lagos is super expensive. It is more expensive than Los Angeles. Aside from housing, every other thing in LA is not expensive. For instance, I am paying $12,000 monthly for my rent. Here you just pay your rent, and you’re good.”

His comments have ignited online discussions about the cost of living in Lagos compared to major global cities such as Los Angeles, with fans divided over his assessment.
