Shettima Urges Unity as Gubio Becomes Borno APC Gubernatorial Candidate in 2027

Vice President Kashim Shettima attended the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Borno State on Thursday, where Engr. Mustapha Gubio was selected as the party’s candidate for the 2027 election.

The primary took place in Maiduguri and was attended by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, party leaders, delegates and other stakeholders from across the state.

Gubio was chosen unopposed as the APC candidate during the exercise.

During the event, Shettima urged party members to stay united and to work toward the APC’s success in the 2027 elections. He called on loyalists to set aside differences and support the party’s candidates ahead of the polls.

Governor Zulum thanked party members and stakeholders for their participation in the primary process.

After being announced as the party’s candidate, Gubio pledged to continue development efforts across the state if elected governor in 2027. He also promised to focus on governance and development in critical sectors.

Attendees at the primary included APC Deputy National Chairman (North) Ali Bukar Dalori; Senators M.T. Monguno and Kaka Shehu Lawan; members of the National Assembly; members of the Borno State House of Assembly; commissioners and other APC stakeholders.
