Vice President Kashim Shettima inaugurated a nationwide community empowerment initiative focused on science, technology, skills acquisition, and renewable energy for young people and women. The program is led by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) in Kano State.

Starting July 27, 2026, the program will train more than 160 participants in solar installation and maintenance, mobile‑phone hardware repair, and the repair and upkeep of electrical appliances and electronics throughout Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

Shettima, accompanied by Musaddiq Mustapha Adamu, the Personal Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Subnational Infrastructure at the Office of the Vice President, lauded NASENI for advancing a core priority of the Renewed Hope Agenda—creating jobs and equipping Nigerians with entrepreneurial skills.

Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and represented by Dr. Ibrahim Abdulkadir, Director‑General of the Services Office, explained that the programmes aim to foster innovation for human‑capital development, stimulate inclusive economic growth through technology‑driven interventions, equip women and youths with pertinent skills, and broaden entrepreneurial prospects via digital learning.

Reaffirming the federal government’s dedication to job creation and skills development, Senator Akume praised NASENI’s commendable initiative and pledged full support for any program that advances Nigerian youths through innovation and entrepreneurship, underpinning a knowledge‑based economy.

He encouraged participants to leverage the training
