Former federal lawmaker Shehu Sani criticized the Senate’s decision to declare former Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) chief executive Mele Kyari wanted.

According to the Daily Post, the Senate repeatedly invited Kyari to appear after allegations that he was involved in a N210 trillion fraud spanning 2017 to 2023. Because he did not attend the summons, the chamber ordered his arrest on Wednesday.

He added, “Declaring Mele Kyari ‘wanted’ by the Senate without following due process to consider the excuse of his absence is wrong.
