Shehu Sani Accuses Babachir of Linking Atiku to Banditry, Calling It Disrespectful

Senator Shehu Sani, a former federal lawmaker, has publicly rebuked remarks made by former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Babachir Lawal about the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Lawal had claimed that the ADC primary election was rigged and compared the former Vice President to the bandit kingpin “Kachalla.” The ADC has denied any manipulation of the primary outcome.

In a post on his X account on Tuesday, Sani said that linking Atiku to banditry was “disrespectful.” He added: “The parting of ways between HE the Waziri and his Adamawa political associate is an indication of the rickety condition of the opposition.”

“But calling the Waziri ‘Kachalla’ and associating him with banditry is utterly disrespectful and unacceptable,” Sani wrote.
