Former Newcastle United striker Alan Shearer has offered his outlook for Saturday’s FA Cup final between Chelsea and Manchester City.

Manchester City, who recently defeated Arsenal to win the Carabao Cup, are aiming to secure a domestic double.

However, Pep Guardiola’s side has lost the last two FA Cup finals they have contested, against Manchester United and Crystal Palace.

For Chelsea, a victory would provide a positive conclusion to a season that has been marked by instability.

The Blues risk missing out on Champions League qualification, despite having won the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup the previous year.

Shearer told BetFair: “I just think because of the mood that City are in, the belief and the confidence, they’ll edge it.”

“I think there’ll be a lot of goals in this, but I think Man City will edge it just.”
