A fatal road collision on the Malam Madori–Hadejia Road in Jigawa State left seven people dead and injured the Chairman of Kafin Hausa Local Government Area.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama reported on X that police said the incident happened at about 9:45 p.m. on 18 May 2026 at Kashin Dila Junction. The crash involved a Toyota Starlet and a black Mercedes‑Benz GLK.
According to sources, the Toyota Starlet, driven by Adamu Dakido, was carrying passengers from Hadejia to Malam Madori when it struck the GLK, which was transporting the council chairman and his driver from Gumel to Kafin Hausa.
All six occupants of the Toyota Starlet died instantly from the impact.
The driver of the GLK also died at the scene, while the council chairman sustained varying degrees of injuries.
“The driver of the GLK vehicle also reportedly lost his life instantly, while the council chairman sustained varying degrees of injuries,” Makama said.
A patrol team of the Nigeria Police Force arrived quickly, and the injured and the deceased were taken to General Hospital, Hadejia.
Police authorities said an investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
