The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, referred to the paramount ruler of Emohua Kingdom, Eze Ohna Sergeant Chidi Awuse, as the “political bulldozer” of Rivers State.
Wike made the comment on Wednesday, noting Awuse’s attendance at the commissioning of the Federal High Court Judges’ Quarters in Abuja.
Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, said that Awuse had laid the foundation for his political career, but added that the monarch has since stepped away from active politics.
“I recognize those who laid the foundation for some of us to use as a ladder to climb to where we are today,” Wike said. “My dear brother, the political bulldozer of Rivers State – even though he has abandoned politics and is now a traditional ruler.”
“They call him Sergeant, but I do not know where he got the name from,” Wike added while referring to Awuse.
