Senators are enabling Tinubu's alleged wrongdoing, says Aisha Yesufu

Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu criticized Nigerian senators, claiming they enable what she calls the “evil” actions of President Bola Tinubu in Nigeria.

Yesufu made the remarks in a statement posted on her verified X handle on Friday.

She urged lawmakers to stop portraying themselves as victims.

The co‑convener of the BringBackOurGirls Movement was responding to an outburst by Kebbi South Senator Garba Maidoki, who said he had stood in the Senate to ask Nigerians to help prevent bandits from killing his people.

“Senators should stop infantilizing themselves! They are not victims. They are enablers of whatever evil Tinubu is carrying out in this country,” she said.

“They are the ones giving him the power to do all the shenanigans he is currently doing,” she added.
