Senate Rejects Arrest Warrant for Mele Kyari; Oshiomhole Responds

The Senate on Thursday formally withdrew its support for the arrest warrant issued against Mele Kyari, the former group chief executive officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, by its Committee on Public Accounts.

It also clarified that it does not endorse statements attributed to Senator Adams Oshiomhole, the representative for Edo North.

Oshiomhole allegedly referred to the NNPC as a group of criminals and thieves during the committee’s hearing on Wednesday.

In response, the NNPC stated that it is not a thief.
