Security forces rescue operation launched after bandits invade Kwara Emir’s palace and abduct wives

Security forces have begun immediate rescue operations to free victims of an abduction that took place on Sunday night, reports DAILY POST.

Military and police units have set up a cordon in the area to recover about ten people who were taken from the community during an overnight attack on the palace of Yashikira Emir Alhaji Umar Seriki.

The Emir escaped the invasion unhurt.

Yashikira is located in Baruteen Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The attackers also attempted to raid local police stations but were reportedly repelled.

Police authorities had not yet issued an official statement on the incident at the time of this report on Monday.
