The federal government has brought back another 66 Nigerians from South Africa, continuing its effort to help citizens impacted by recent xenophobic attacks.
These returnees, constituting the second evacuation batch, landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos around 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday.
The return was carried out under an evacuation exercise authorized by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after renewed attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa.
The latest evacuation follows the arrival of the first batch of 258 Nigerians on 11 June aboard a chartered Air Peace flight.
