US Imposes New Sanctions on Iran
In April 2024 the United States announced a new round of sanctions targeting Iran’s nuclear and ballistic‑missile programs. The measures freeze any U.S. assets of designated Iranian entities, prohibit U.S. persons from dealing with them, and bar American companies from providing technology, equipment, or services that could support Iran’s weapons development. The sanctions also expand restrictions on Iran’s oil exports, shipping, and financial institutions, aiming to pressure Tehran to return to the 2015 nuclear agreement framework. Violations can result in civil penalties and criminal fines. Views Nigeria
