South Africa and the Rest of Africa
South Africa is the continent’s most industrialised and economically diversified nation, accounting for roughly 15 % of Africa’s total GDP. It has a well‑developed financial sector, extensive infrastructure and a large manufacturing base, while most other African countries rely more heavily on agriculture, natural‑resource extraction or tourism and have lower per‑capita incomes.
