Obi Abiodun, the governor of Nigeria’s Ogun State, called on Nigerians to “embrace unity and hope” during Eid‑el‑Kabir (the Festival of the Greater Sacrifice). He said the holiday, which commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son, should inspire collective solidarity, tolerance and a renewed commitment to peace across the country’s diverse ethnic and religious groups.
