Eid El‑Kabir: Wike Sends Greetings to Residents and Children
Eid el‑Kabir (also called Eid al‑Adha) is the Islamic “Festival of Sacrifice,” observed each year on the 10th day of the lunar month Dhu al‑Hijja. In 2024, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Nigeria, issued a public message congratulating the state’s Muslim residents—especially children—on the occasion, wishing them a blessed Eid, urging unity, and reminding them of the holiday’s themes of generosity, compassion and gratitude.
