Brest is a major city in southwestern Belarus, situated on the border with Poland near the confluence of the Bug and Mukhavets rivers. It serves as the administrative centre of Brest Region and a key transport hub, with important railway lines, highways and the Brest Railway Bridge linking Belarus to the European Union.
