Police arraign seven suspects over Kano GSM market

In early June 2024, a Kano State court in northern Nigeria arraigned seven men accused of involvement in a large‑scale fraud and money‑laundering scheme linked to the city’s bustling GSM (mobile‑phone) market. Prosecutors allege the suspects conspired to sell counterfeit SIM cards and illegally tap phone lines, defrauding thousands of customers and generating millions of naira. All seven were charged with cybercrime, fraud and related offenses and were ordered to remain in custody pending trial. Views Nigeria
