Kano State’s government has set up a taskforce to identify, demolish, and prevent illegal structures—such as unauthorized buildings, encroachments on public land, and unapproved extensions—to enforce zoning laws, protect urban planning, and improve safety and revenue collection. The team includes officials from the Ministry of Urban Development, the State Building Control Agency, police, and the State Planning Commission, and it will conduct surveys, issue demolition notices, and coordinate with local authorities to clear illegal constructions.
