FG to Expand Deep Blue Project to Bakassi

The Federal Government of Nigeria announced that its Deep Blue Project—originally a security and development programme aimed at counter‑insurgency, crime prevention and community empowerment in the Niger Delta—will be extended to the Bakassi area of Cross River State. The expansion seeks to strengthen policing, improve infrastructure and provide livelihood support to curb illegal fishing, smuggling and other security challenges in the coastal border region.
