FCC to enforce sanctions for recruitment violations
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced that it will begin enforcing sanctions against broadcasters and other licensees that violate the “recruitment” rules of the political advertising rules—specifically, the prohibition on using broadcast stations to solicit or recruit individuals for political campaigns. Violations can result in fines, forfeiture of licenses, or other enforcement actions. The move is intended to curb the use of broadcast media for covert campaign recruitment and ensure compliance with the Communications Act’s political advertising provisions. Views Nigeria
