Bauchi WASH stakeholders propose a tax on companies

The Bauchi State Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) stakeholders—comprising government agencies, NGOs, community groups and private‑sector partners—have proposed imposing a levy on companies operating in the state. The tax would generate dedicated revenue to fund the construction, operation and maintenance of water supply systems, sanitation facilities and hygiene promotion programs, aiming to improve public health and achieve universal access to safe water and sanitation in Bauchi.
