US Imposes New Sanctions on Iran

In April 2024 the United States announced a new round of sanctions targeting Iran’s nuclear and ballistic‑missile programs, as well as its support for militant groups. The measures freeze assets of designated Iranian individuals and entities, bar U.S. persons from dealing with them, and prohibit the export of U.S. technology that could aid Iran’s weapons development. The sanctions also expand restrictions on Iran’s oil exports and financial institutions, aiming to increase pressure on Tehran to comply with international nuclear agreements. Views Nigeria
