In February 2024, gunmen opened fire on Omudu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the House of Representatives seat covering Otukpo/Ohimini in Benue State, Nigeria. The attack occurred while he was campaigning, injuring him and several supporters and highlighting the region’s ongoing insecurity. Views Nigeria
