FCC to enforce sanctions for recruitment violations

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced it will impose civil penalties—up to $10,000 per violation and possible higher fines for repeated offenses—on broadcasters, cable operators, and other licensees that fail to follow the FCC’s rules on recruiting minors for on‑air or online programming. The enforcement action targets violations such as not obtaining parental consent, not providing required disclosures, or using deceptive practices when recruiting children and teenagers for shows, contests, or digital content. Penalties are intended to ensure compliance with the FCC’s child‑protection regulations under the Communications Act. Views Nigeria
