The San Antonio Spurs are a professional NBA basketball team based in San Antonio, Texas. Founded in 1967 as the Dallas Chaparrals of the ABA, they joined the NBA in 1976 and moved to San Antonio in 1973. Known for a strong, disciplined style of play, the Spurs have won five NBA championships (1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2014) and produced Hall‑of‑Fame players such as Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Tony Parker and Manu Ginóbili.
