ogbomoso

Ogbomosa (often spelled Ogbomoso) is a major city in southwestern Nigeria, located in Oyo State about 115 km north of Ibadan. It serves as the administrative centre of Ogbomoso North and Ogbomoso South LGAs and is a commercial hub for agriculture, especially cocoa, maize and livestock. The city grew around the historic Ogbomoso Kingdom founded in the 19th century by the Yoruba warlord Olabanjo, and today it hosts institutions such as Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and a growing market economy.
