Michael Carrick (born 28 July 1981) is an English former professional footballer and current coach. He spent most of his playing career as a deep‑lying central midfielder for Manchester United (2006–2018), winning five Premier League titles, a UEFA Champions League, and multiple domestic cups. Internationally, Carrick earned 20 caps for England between 2001 and 2012. After retiring, he joined Manchester United’s coaching staff, serving as assistant manager under Erik ten Hag.
