Kwara is a state in north‑central Nigeria, established in 1967. Its capital is Ilorin, which is also the state's largest city. Kwara covers about 36,825 km², has a diverse population of roughly 3 million people, and its economy is based on agriculture (cocoa, rice, yam, and livestock), commerce, and a growing services sector.
