iron dome
The Iron Dome is an Israeli mobile air‑defence system designed to intercept and destroy short‑range rockets, artillery shells, and mortars fired from distances of 4–70 km. Developed by Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries, it became operational in 2011 and uses radar to detect incoming threats, a battle‑management computer to assess whether they will hit populated areas, and Tamir missiles to shoot down those deemed dangerous. It has been credited with intercepting the majority of rockets aimed at civilian targets during multiple conflicts. Views Nigeria
