Teachers protest, demand rescue of abducted colleagues, pupils

In early 2024, teachers in several regions of Pakistan staged protests after a number of their colleagues were abducted by armed groups. The educators demanded that authorities locate and rescue the missing teachers, warning that continued insecurity would force schools to close and jeopardize students’ education.
