Getafe is a city and municipality in the southern part of the Community of Madrid, Spain, about 13 km (8 mi) south of central Madrid. With a population of roughly 190,000, it is part of the Madrid metropolitan area and known for its industrial zones, historic sites such as the 16th‑century Church of San Juan Bautista, and the football club Getafe CF, which plays in La Liga.
