NNPC accuses Dangote Refinery of seeking fuel monopoly

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has accused the Dangote Refinery of trying to dominate the domestic fuel market. NNPC claims the refinery’s pricing and supply strategies could create a monopoly, limiting competition and affecting fuel availability and prices across Nigeria. The dispute centers on concerns that Dangote’s large‑scale operations may crowd out smaller players and give the private refinery undue control over the country’s gasoline, diesel and kerosene supply.
