NAFDAC (Nigeria’s National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control) announced that it has destroyed counterfeit medicines valued at about N1.8 billion (roughly US$4 million). The seized items included fake antibiotics, antimalarials and other drugs that were seized in raids across several states and incinerated or crushed to prevent them from reaching consumers. This operation is part of NAFDAC’s ongoing effort to curb the circulation of substandard and falsified medicines in Nigeria. Views Nigeria
