MACBAN welcomes US religious freedom report, distances Fulani

The MACBAN (Mali Association for the Protection of Human Rights and the Promotion of Democracy) issued a statement welcoming the U.S. State Department’s 2023 International Religious Freedom Report for Mali, praising its recognition of progress on religious liberty. At the same time, MACBAN distanced itself from recent Fulani‑related violence, emphasizing that the organization does not support or condone any attacks by Fulani militants and reaffirming its commitment to peace, inter‑faith dialogue and the protection of all religious communities in Mali.
