Lagos Government Charges Pilgrims to Prioritize Health Ahead

The Lagos State government announced that pilgrims traveling abroad for Hajj and Umrah must undergo mandatory health checks and obtain a medical clearance certificate, for which a fee is charged. The policy aims to ensure travelers are fit, prevent the spread of diseases, and reduce the risk of health emergencies during the pilgrimage. Fees cover the cost of medical examinations, laboratory tests and the issuance of the health clearance required by both Nigerian authorities and the Saudi Ministry of Health. Views Nigeria
