Itsekiri Group Rejects INEC’s New Ward and Polling

The Itsekiri Development Union (IDU), representing the Itsekiri ethnic group in Nigeria’s Delta State, publicly rejected the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) recently announced ward and polling‑unit delimitation for the 2023 elections. The group said the new boundaries were drawn without proper consultation, would split Itsekiri communities, and could dilute their voting power.
