"Dislodging Bandits from Abia Forests and Communities" is a 2024 initiative by the Abia State government and local vigilante groups in southeastern Nigeria. The operation targets armed criminal gangs that have been using the state's forested areas as hideouts to carry out kidnappings, cattle rustling and attacks on villages. Security forces, together with community volunteers, conduct coordinated patrols, set up checkpoints, and clear forest camps, aiming to restore safety, protect residents, and reopen disrupted agricultural and trade routes.
