Bauchi WASH stakeholders propose a tax on companies
The Bauchi State Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) stakeholders—a coalition of government agencies, NGOs, community groups and private‑sector partners—have proposed introducing a levy on companies operating in the state. The tax would be earmarked for funding WASH infrastructure such as boreholes, latrines and hygiene promotion programs, aiming to improve access to safe water and sanitation for residents, especially in rural and underserved urban areas. The proposal is part of a broader effort to mobilize additional resources and ensure sustainable financing for the state’s WASH initiatives. Views Nigeria
